FROM OUR SPOT'O'MAIL - BAG

Dear Dr Straede,

Today is Nintu Gracious Guy's 5th birthday.  We know him as Indiana, named after the movie series Indiana Jones.  Like his namesake, Indiana has also had may adventures to recall.  He is now such a part of our lives that we cannot believe that it is just short of 5 years that he arrived in our family, but we now cannot imagine what life would be like without his company.

Currently he is living in the Pacific Northwest town of Issaquah. Issaquah is in Washington State, USA, 17 Miles East of Seattle. Although he is living in Seattle right now, he is planning to return to Australia, for another adventure in Brisbane at the end of this year.  It is winter right now, so his days are spent in a centrally heated apartment and he gets to enjoy the view out through panoramic windows. In Issaquah, the local vet, a feline specialist, is absolutely captivated by him.  The vet and all his staff think it is a real treat when Indiana comes to stay with them and such is his ability to win hearts, at times, there have been tears from the staff when we have arrived to take him home.

Currently cat breeders in the USA attempt to 'refine' their breeds by emphasising specific physical characteristics.  This has lead to local cats looking skinny, weakly with delicate features.  By contrast, Indiana, who is strong, solid, attractive and with an outgoing personality is seen as a breath of fresh air and to quote " how cats should be".

Enclosed, so you might see the progress of one of your cats, are photographs of Indiana.
